SAIT

The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology is a technical institute that is home to programs such as the culinary arts, aircraft maintenance, and a plethora of the trades. Focused on bringing hands-on learning with the necessary tools and instructors that bring industry experience. The Highwood Kitchen + Bar is a school-run elevated dining experience on campus. Some of the locations on campus may seem familiar, as it was the set for The Last of Us (2023). SAIT sits in the Northwest of Calgary, with great city views. Nearby are bustling neighbourhoods such as Kensington/Sunnyside where you' ll find many restaurants and cafes.

Calgary, Alberta, the blue sky city. This city has about 332 days of sunlight on average annually. The Rockies, beautiful lakes, hikes, and wildlife, is just a stone's throw away from the city. Calgary is a growing city with a tech hub, the center of the oil industry, a great food scene, and wide cultural diversity but with deep roots in western culture. It is also home to the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede, a yearly fair with rides, the rodeo, and more!

SAIT is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7 which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Îyârhe Nakoda of Bearspaw, Chiniki and Goodstoney.
We are situated in an area the Blackfoot tribes traditionally called Moh’kinsstis, where the Bow River meets the Elbow River. We now call it the city of Calgary, which is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta.
